Our Eleanora. I’m convinced she is the sweetest baby that the world has ever known. She is such a good little girl. I feel like we are coming out of the fog of newborn-world and into such a fun stage in her babyhood. A lot of people ask if I “just love being a mom” and I really don’t know. I sure do love her though. I love taking care of her. I love playing with her. I love being with her. I love her in our lives. It is amazing to watch how she has changed things, but how we’re still the same simultaneously. We drag her everywhere with us and I hope it can stay that way. She’s a fun addition…most of the time!
Weight: We don’t really know. Our scale is terrible. I’d wager she’s gained at least a pound since 2 months. Her thigh and neck rolls are some kind of wonderful. Her length is a little more impressive than her weight though. She’s incredibly long. She’s as long as some babies up to 7-8 months! I feel like she barely fits in my lap anymore. She was 25 inches at 2 months, so I’m pretty sure she’s longer now.
Clothing: We’re definitely filling out the 0-3 clothes! A lot of them are too wide and too short! Ha! Let me also say that it is SO FUN to dress Elle. I wish I had some of her outfits in my size! I mean, just look at the faux-fur vest and pompom hat…yes on so many levels.
Sleep: Hello feeling rested again! Praise hands! Most nights she sleeps at least 8 hours. Her naps aren’t very long during the day though, that is unless I’m holding her. I think we just lucked out with a baby that sleeps well for the most part.
Eating: I think she’s mastered the whole eating thing…as evidenced by her leg rolls and chubby cheeks. I am excited that she can start baby food in the next few months!
Personality/ Mood: She is a fairly quiet baby. She really doesn’t make much noise unless its eating time or she’s sleepy. She seems laid back and easy going. I often wonder what kind of little person she will become. She loves showing off her smile to anyone and everyone these days and will let anyone hold her. Sometimes she gets fussy for no reason, but she is mostly happy as long as we’re giving her attention or if she has something fun to look at…like the fireplace. I love waking her up in the morning (after her early feeding) because she’s so happy. She’s all smiles in the morning and I could live in those moments forever.
Loves: She is totally into her playmat now. She will happily spend hours there sometimes. “Standing up” is also her favorite. She also found her hands and feet this month and she’s pretty fond of them. I can’t keep her hands out of her mouth for long…unless she has a blanket, her foot, her shirt or something else in her mouth instead. (We may have a teething baby soon I think!) I think she loves my singing. I sing to her almost all day. We make up funny songs about changing her diaper, bath time, outside, my work, and countless other things. It won’t be long before she’s laughing at me not with me, so I’m eating it up while I can. I think she loves me too with the way she looks up at me with such adoration in her blue eyes. It feels like I’m her favorite person in the world…and I think it might be true. It’s a pretty amazing feeling.
Doesn’t love: Not being the center of attention, and being held for too long when she wants to play.
Things I want to remember: She laughed for the first time about a week or so ago. She sounded like an adorable squeaky toy. I’ve tried to replicate it every day since. Apparently, her feet are hilarious. Her little coos and aahhs are my favorite thing ever. I love our little babbling conversations. It’s like she’s telling me about her life the way she talks and uses every facial expression imaginable. It’s so cute I could die. Eleanora is also a girl on the move these days with all her rolling around. She’ll do a complete 180 on her playmat! I’ll turn around for one second and she’ll be positioned differently. She’s a ninja that girl! She will also roll over on her tummy and then cry because she hates tummy time. Poor thing. We make her do it anyway at least for a minute or two. It’s getting so hard to get a good photo of her too because she’s such a wiggle worm! I have to earn it for sure. If she’s not moving she’s putting her clothes in her mouth or something. (See photo below. This is how most of our shoots turn out. She thinks it is funny to sabotage my attempts to document her childhood.) Oh well! She sweet cuddly phase was nice while it lasted.
We love you little doll! You light up our lives.
She is such a pretty baby! And her smile — so cute!
